Community Planning and Development Studio: Spring 2021

About the Project
This project assigned the task
of redesigning a piece of the
North Dakota State University
campus of our choosing after we had rearranged the entire campus. The objective was to create a more inviting and lively space for students,
faculty, and visitors.
About the Design
This specific space that was redesigned was formerly churchill field located just East of the A. Glenn Hill (or STEM) Building on NDSU's campus. The field was moved to the West side of the STEM building to be in between the union and STEM, The though behind the design was to make a more common outdoor space on campus that could be utilized better than a large open field. There are small spaces throughout the plaza for people to sit at at and visit and there is even a portion of the site that has trees planted close enough to hammock on.
Exploring Lighting

All Videos
During this project I wanted to explore new forms of lighting that I hadn't done before. These new forms of lighting were the lighting poles and the RGB ground lighting to give direction along the main paths with a cool color to give comfort to those walking in the night.
